Porter Robinson Revives 2019 Residency

One of EDM’s most influential, heavily followed and groundbreaking artists of the past decade, Porter Robinson, has inked another year of unreal performances for Las Vegas hospitality leader, Hakkasan Group. Hakkasan Nightclub, OMNIA and WET REPUBLIC will host the North Carolina-native who nearly a decade ago broke into an rising dance music scene with classics, “Say My Name” and “The State.” After his initial success, Porter’s momentum resulted in tour slots, mainstream recognition and much anticipation for his debut EP, “Spitfire.” Riding a wave of praise, Porter’s heavy sound, fast-paced beats and energetic vibes were heard around the globe.

Further developing as a trendsetting artist, Porter began a new, more meaningful sound with lyrics and chord progressions that could bring listeners to emotions not felt in previous productions. Two years of hard work paid dividends as his debut album, “Worlds,” released to an invigorated fan base which elevated into a No. 1 hit on the Billboard “Top Dance/Electronic Albums” in 2014. Still striving for more, Porter grew his creativity into an alias project titled, “Virtual Self,” led by its flagship single, “Ghost Voices.” Midi notes and audio samples reminiscent of early 2000s techno fused as the “Virtual Self EP” exploded in popularity earning Porter his first GRAMMY-nomination.
