Tiësto Remixes “Tough Love” in Tribute to Avicii

A tribute to a longtime friend, Tiësto’s remix of Avicii brings nostalgic energy as dynamic vocals and progressive synths blend in harmony of the late Swedish DJ/producer. The untimely death in April of Avicii (real name Tim Bergling) was shocking news to the music industry as the once megastar’s climb to the top of the charts was met with a tragic ending. Close to finishing his follow up album to 2015’s “Stories,” the Bergling family moved forward with a posthumous release of “TIM” in June.

On top of posting old photos of the two producers hanging out backstage at Ultra Music Festival, Tiësto took the next step in remixing “Tough Love” as a longstanding tribute to honor their friendship. Featuring Agnes and Vargas & Lagola, this pluck-based reimagining totes mainstage memories from the festival scene of 2012. Designed to be sonically in unison with the original production, Tiësto’s legendary skill set is on display as this complex remix is simplified into a feel-good release. Undoubtedly to be heard at concerts around the world, this remix of “Tough Love” encourages peaceful closure to the withstanding legacy of Avicii.
